Terms of Service

1. The service

MCP Server Directory provides search, categorization, summaries, links, and submission tools for publicly available Model Context Protocol projects. The Directory is informational and does not host, operate, certify, or maintain the third-party MCP servers it lists.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must be legally capable of accepting these Terms. If you use the Directory for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization and that “you” includes the organization.

3. Permitted use

You may browse, search, link to, and reasonably quote public Directory pages. Automated access must respect robots.txt, rate limits, security controls, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, and applicable law. Written permission is required for high-volume extraction, mirroring, or use that materially burdens the service.

4. Submissions and your responsibilities

When submitting a listing, you represent that the information is accurate, not misleading, and that you have the right to provide it. You remain responsible for the project, its code, documentation, claims, security, licenses, and legal compliance.

Do not submit secrets, personal data without a lawful basis, malware, deceptive links, impersonation, unlawful content, or material that infringes another person’s rights.

5. License to submitted content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant the Directory a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, summarize, display, distribute, and promote that content as necessary to operate and publicize the listing.

This license continues while the content is published and for reasonable backup, archival, legal, and integrity purposes after removal. It does not transfer ownership of your project or software.

6. Review, ranking, editing, and removal

We may verify, classify, summarize, edit for clarity, reject, delay, rank, unfeature, or remove any listing. Publication and placement are not guaranteed. We may correct obvious errors or combine duplicate entries.

We may remove content for inactivity, broken links, security concerns, abuse, legal requests, infringement claims, misleading descriptions, or any reason reasonably related to directory quality or safety.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not interfere with the service or other users.

• Bypass access controls, probe vulnerabilities without authorization, introduce malware, or disrupt infrastructure.
• Scrape at excessive rates, evade rate limits, or use the service to build spam, deceptive, or impersonating products.
• Submit false reviews, fake popularity signals, misleading ownership claims, or hidden commercial promotion.
• Collect or expose personal information unlawfully.
• Copy branding or content in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement.
• Use the Directory or listed projects in violation of export controls, sanctions, privacy, copyright, or other applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

The Directory’s design, original text, branding, taxonomy, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Project names, logos, code, documentation, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

If you believe a listing infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or another right, send a detailed notice identifying the protected work, affected URL, requested action, your contact information, and a good-faith statement of authority and accuracy. We may forward the notice to the submitter or project maintainer.

9. Third-party projects and links

Third-party MCP servers and websites are independent. A listing, category, summary, badge, or featured placement is not an endorsement, warranty, security review, or guarantee of compatibility.

Before installing or connecting a project, review its source, permissions, data practices, license, documentation, and security. You assume the risks of downloading, installing, configuring, or relying on third-party software.

10. Security and responsible disclosure

Do not test the Directory or third-party projects in a way that harms users or systems. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately with enough detail to investigate. Authorization to test this site does not authorize testing any linked third-party service.

11. Availability and changes

The service may change, experience errors, or be unavailable. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features without guaranteeing continued access. Cached or synchronized information may be incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent with the original project source.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Directory is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim express and implied warranties, including accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, security, and compatibility. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business; or harm caused by third-party projects, even if advised of the possibility.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum amount required by applicable law. These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, willful misconduct, or certain personal injury claims.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify the operator from third-party claims arising from your submission, unlawful use, infringement, misrepresentation, or violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from the operator’s own unlawful conduct.

15. Suspension and termination

We may restrict access, block abusive traffic, or remove submissions when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, third parties, or legal rights. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.

16. Governing rules and disputes

Applicable mandatory consumer and local laws continue to apply. Because the public site does not currently identify a corporate operator or chosen jurisdiction, these Terms do not designate an exclusive court or governing jurisdiction. Before formal proceedings, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.

17. General terms

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer obligations under these Terms without consent; the operator may transfer the service and these Terms as part of a reorganization. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning use of the Directory.

18. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Use the site submission/contact channel for legal notices, listing disputes, intellectual-property requests, or questions, and identify the affected URL.
